ST. PAUL'S CENTER: Through the Kitchen Door

 

Through the Kitchen Door International, Inc. is a non-profit catering company partnering with St. Paul's to provide food service for special events at St. Paul's Center.  Through the Kitchen Door was incorporated in Costa Rica in 1999 and moved to Washington, DC in 2000.  Their mission is to provide life skills, empowerment, health and nutrition trianing to low income and recent immigrant adults and at-risk teens.  They offer several training programs which are described on their web site www.kitchendoor.org

To promote a sense of community, Through the Kitchen Door will host a series of seasonal tasting dinners at the St. Paul's Center during 2009.  Critically acclaimed local chefs will share their recipes and teach trainees how to prepare and present them.  The recipes will be featured in seasonal community dinners on the following Tuesdays: February 3, May 5, July 7, and November 3.  The contribution is $100.00 per person or two for $175.00.  Dinners will begin at 7:00 p.m.  To contact Through the Kitchen Door call 301-657-1157.
