Using the St. Paul's Center

This magnificent facility is used as a venue for the Arts and Culture, as well as a vital resource for the growing parish.

Great Hall, St. Paul's Center

Guidelines for the use and rental of St. Paul’s Center

Based on the Rector’s recommendation and the Vestry’s agreement, new guidelines for the use of St. Paul’s Center have been defined.  Specifically, St. Paul’s Center will be used to further the mission of St. Paul’s Church as it reaches out to the local neighborhood and the wider Washington community.  We are looking for a Ministry Partner, a non-profit group, which needs a week day rental space for on-going base operations.

We will also continue to make space available to worthy groups that are not able to pay but provide an important service to members of our community like the Boy Scouts, Diane Jones’ Karate School, the DC Boys’ Choir and Al-Anon.  These groups currently meet here once or twice a week.

Major focus will be on musical events offered under the auspices of the Rock Creek Festival.  These groups will make use of the Great Hall and Gallery on various dates and must be approved by the Director of Music in conjunction with the Rector.  We will no longer use the church for such events.

The Gallery and Great Hall can be rented for funeral repasts if they are not booked.  This service is made available to families using Rock Creek Cemetery for interment.  Renters will follow all of our standard operating guidelines as defined within our contract.  We will charge a minimum of $600.00 for the use of the Gallery (subject to the size of the repast) with an additional refundable maintenance deposit of $150.00.

Non-profit and community groups (on a case by case basis) may lease SPC for meetings or award/recognition ceremonies following our standard fee schedule and guidelines.  We no longer lease the space for outside wedding receptions, birthday, anniversary or graduation parties.  Parishioners, however, may use the Center for family wedding receptions at 50% of the standard rental fee.

New guidelines (in addition to those guidelines already defined in our contract):

  1. No events on Sundays
  2. The church is not available except for services.
  3. Space may not be leased beyond 9:00 p.m
  4. No Birthday, Anniversary, Graduation parties.
